Croatia - Part 2

Shoot! I really got behind here at the blog site. Finals really took up my time! Well, I left off at Croatia... and really we have not gone anywhere since so I can fill you in on the rest of Croatia!
These next few pictures where taken on a day trip we did driving along this peninsula called Peljesac. We drove to the very tip of the peninsula and then took a ferry across to the town of Korcula. We really liked Korcula because it was quiet and cheaper than Dubrovnik!

This word sums up a huge part of the memory of Croatia for us: Oysters. We passed many oyster farms at the beginning of our drive and stopped by to try some. Well, Trinh tried some. And actually Trinh couldn't help himself at this one restaurant and ate 8 raw oysters. And for the first time ever in the history of Trinh he had a stomach ache and was quite sick I have to say!

This was the town of Orebic, where we took the ferry to Korcula. Very beautiful. Very Secluded and Quiet.

Good-bye Orebic and hello Korcula!

We rented bikes and went for a leisurly bike ride along the shoreline...

And yes, Trinh went for a swim after testing it out on his toes....it was a quick dip!! Turned out to be colder than he thought.

The next day, we were off to the Meditterranean Gardens. We had heard that it was supposed to be really beautiful, a hidden treasure that not many knew about - and actually we had stopped by a couple days before and were not impressed by what we saw at the door, and we though "what could be that cool for only $6?". So we passed. But now we had nothing to do and so we thought we would give it a second chance. Again, at the beginning we were skeptical when we walked down this path in the picture below, it seemed like we were just in a regular forest of trees:

But then....it opened up into a lush, tropical, ancient Greek garden with a view of the ocean that was gorgeous...

We ended up getting a little side-tracked from the garden as we took a path that led down to this seemingly "secret" spot; it was like finding the secret garden to me, except this was a secret-ocean-garden-swimming-spot....!

It was extremely hard for Trinh not to jump in here at this secret spot...but the memory of his last experience on the bike ride I think helped keep him dry.

Ok so back to the Meditteranean garden....

Well, I am going to finish on Croatia with just some random snapshots from our trip...

Croatia - Part 1

I have really been enjoying Dubrovnik so far. I love the texture of the terra cotta roof tiles and the small island feel it has here. Below is the view from our room!

Monday, (day 2 of our trip - we mostly slept day 1 due to our early flight), we took a walk around the old city walls, it was perfect weather surprisingly after a morning rain storm! The views were beautiful...

We spotted this little drink bar down below but there was no way to get to it from on top of the wall, it is on our list to stop in here and enjoy the view and a cold drink before we leave though! We did stop and have a nice drink in the 2nd picture below at the only place along the wall to find something cold and refreshing..

I love the beautiful teal colored water!

More to come!!
