Becky's Visit

Becky has come and gone already...what a great time we had together! We travelled to 3 countries in 3 weeks and saw as much as we could fit in! We spent lots of time in the car...maybe too much as towards the end even the sight of the car was dreadful! We drank lots of espresso, ate lots of chocolate and other good food, played lots of scrabble, watched whatever episodes we could find of The Office online, had lots of laughs, and did TONS of walking. It was a memorable vacation!

Paris

This little bird flew up to keep my company for a minute at the top of Sacre Couer.

This is Ryan, Holly(sitting), and their son Paxton - they were also staying at the Burnett's house at the same time we were. We had lots of fun hanging out with them.

An interesting thing about Paris is that it seems to have a dress code that everyone knows about. Its like everyone got the same memo and those who didn't...well, you can tell by what we're wearing. All the ladies wear extremely stylish black coats, with either tight fitting jeans or a short skirt with high heals or boots a hat to match, and a purse that is perfect. And for the men anything stylish and black seems to work. Its like all of Paris is a fashion magazine. I tried to catch a glimpse of it with this couple walking by...

Well, I thought these two had pretty good style even if they didn't get the Paris memo:

This is the Alexander bridge at nightfall.

The Half-Marathon

I felt a great sense of accomplishment upon finishing this race, its been something I have wanted to do for awhile! I was a little disappointed it took me 2:16...I had hoped to do it in 2 hours or less. But 16 min. past 2 hours isn't so bad. The race itself was pretty fun, people were cheering for us all the way, sometimes a band would be playing something upbeat, and even the different fire departments that we passed would come out in full uniform and cheer us on! Its kinda funny, I know we passed lots of cool sights but I honestly can't really remember any of them - I was more focused on trying not to trip on banana peels and orange skins that were littered all over the ground!
